57 Films was announced among the list of winners at the inaugural Meet Qingdao, Short Film Competition awards hosted in Qingdao, Friday 4 May.  Attended by over 200 people from the cities film and television industries, Paul Ryan and Producer Tao You attended on behalf of 57 Films, taking home the ‘Originating Committee Special Award’.

The short was filmed on a recent trip to Qingdao, widely regarded as of one China’s most beautiful and clean cities. A port city of sky scrapers, parks and beaches bordering the yellow sea, it is located in China’s eastern Shandong province, and is also Adelaide’s sister city.

Shot in Chinese and titled ‘Qingdao in the rearview mirror’ the film is just over five minutes in length.
